Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Coordinator will have diverse responsibilities in the laboratory including MRI and behavioral data collection from human subjects, data management, quality assessment and reporting, computer-based image processing and analysis and statistical analysis. Additional duties will relate to operations of the laboratory including ordering and management of equipment and supplies, data collection, participant assessments, website updates and assistance with preparation of publications and grant applications. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with the PI, as well as with other faculty, technicians and trainees within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and organizes behavioral data collection from human subjects and collects participant assessments;
  • Performs quality assessment and reporting for the laboratory;
  • Conducts computer-based image processing and analysis, and statistical analysis of data;
  • Assists the PI with the preparation of publications and grant applications.
  • Performs additional duties related to the operations of the laboratory including ordering and management of equipment and supplies, and website updates.
  • Assists faculty within the Department of Radiology with the preparation of institutional review board (IRB) forms, case report forms (CRF), IND submissions and maintenance of study documentation;
  • Works closely with PI to coordinate clinical trials associated with MRI and/or other imaging;
  • Schedules research MRI scans;
  • Maintains and organizes study documentation and records. Compiles data and assists in consolidating /analyzing data for presentation;
  • Collaborates with investigators and the research team on the development of new research projects, databases and protocols or new department /service initiatives;
  • Serves as the contact person for all investigators and research coordinators within radiology and from other departments who are interested in utilizing radiology imaging for clinical research purposes. This includes proactively addressing any potential issues, facilitating database enhancements, and overseeing/managing special requests;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or social science discipline.
  • 0-2 years of work experience.
  • Comfort working with computer-based applications is required.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix or other command-line-based computer operating systems, scientific computing (e.g., Matlab, IDL), programming (e.g., shell scripting, C++), database (e.g., MS Access, SQL) and statistical software (e.g., STATA, SAS, SPSS) is preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
